Principle Investigator
Run Wang
I am a tenured associate professor at School of Cyber Science and Engineering (SCSE) in Wuhan University (WHU). I obtained my Ph.D. (2015-2018) in Information Security at Wuhan University advised by Prof. Lina Wang. Prior to joining WHU, I worked as a postdoctoral research fellow (2019-2021) under the supervision of Prof. LIU Yang in Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. My research interests are at the intersection of security, privacy, and AI. I am honored to have received several awards, including the innovative talent awards from the China National Postdoctoral Program, Hubei Province, and Wuhan city. In the early stages of my career, I have had the privilege of mentoring talented students, leading to recognition as an excellent supervisor in various national competitions such as the China College Students “Internet+” Innovation, National College Student Information Security Contest, and the China Post-Graduate Cyber Security Innovation Contest.

PhD Students
Yuyang Zhang (Fall 2023)
obtained his bachelor's degree from Wuhan University and has been pursuing his PhD since Fall 2025. He is committed to developing a trustworthy and efficient AI agent powered by large language models (LLMs) and multimodal language models, while also exploring their potential for vulnerability discovery. His academic excellence is underscored by being a three-time recipient of national scholarships in 2019, 2022 and 2023.
Xi Ye (Fall 2024)
obtained her master's degree from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and has been pursuing her PhD at Wuhan University since Fall 2024, under the supervision of Pro. Lina Wang and Pro. Run Wang. She is dedicated to AIGC safety, focusing on creating effective measures to secure Text-to-Image (T2I) model generation and exploring high-quality multi-modal content generation. Her academic achievements include receiving the national scholarship in 2023.
Youpeng Chen (Fall 2025)
obtained her master's degree from Zhengzhou University and has been pursuing her PhD at Wuhan University since Fall 2025, under the supervision of Pro. Lina Wang and Pro. Run Wang. She is currently interested in AI for security, with a focus on vulnerability discovery and analysis.
Lekun Xia (Fall 2025)
obtained his master's degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University and has been pursuing his PhD at Wuhan University since Fall 2025, under the supervision of Pro. Lina Wang and Pro. Run Wang. His current interest is exploring the potential of AI in vulnerability discovery.

Wei Xu (Fall 2023)
earned her bachelor's degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University has been pursuing his master's degree since Fall 2023. She is currently conducting cutting-edge research on the alignment and red-teaming of Language Models (LM), Vision-Language Models (VLM), and Text-to-Image Models.
Yi Guan (Fall 2024)
earned his bachelor's degree from Wuhan University and is currently involved in advanced research in vulnerability discovery and exploitation, with a specific focus on edge devices, vector databases, and related areas.
Yuhang Ma (Fall 2024)
obtained his bachelor's degree from Wuhan University and has been pursuing his master's degree since Fall 2024. His research focuses on the security and privacy of multimodal large models, including backdoor attacks and jailbreaking.
Sicheng Nian (Fall 2024)
